Haircuts
Ulta haircuts include shampoo, conditioner, scalp massage, and blow-dry for no additional charge.
- Clipper cuts: Haircuts done with clippers for a super-short cut, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, and blow-dry (30 minutes)
- Haircuts: Haircuts done with scissors for anyone over age 10, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, and blow-dry (60 minutes)
- Signature haircuts: Haircuts done with scissors for anyone over age 10, includes shampoo, scalp massage, and customized deep conditioning treatment (1 hr. 15 minutes)
- Kids haircut: Haircuts done with clippers or scissors on anyone under age 10, includes shampoo, condition, and blow-dry (30 minutes)
- Bang or neck trim: Quick trim for bangs or neckline, does NOT include shampoo, condition, scalp massage, or blow-dry (15 minutes)
Color
All color services include shampoo, conditioner, scalp massage, and blow-dry unless otherwise noted.
- All-over color: All-over application of a single semi-permanent or permanent hair color from roots to ends, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, and blow-dry (1 hr. 45 minutes)
- Multi-tone color: All-over application of multiple semi-permanent or permanent hair color from roots to ends, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, and blow-dry (2 hr.)
- Gloss: All-over application of a demi-permanent hair color to add shine and vibrance for 6-8 weeks (1 hr. 45 minutes)
- Root touchup: Application of matching color to roots between colors, available in full or partial options (1 hr. 45 minutes)
- Total blonde: All-over bleaching to create your desired shade of blonde, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, blow-dry, and toner (2 hr. 15 minutes)
- Gray blending: All-over application of Redken Color Camo to blend gray hair into your color, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, and blow-dry (30 minutes)
- Color correction: Any services required to correct color, includes shampoo, condition, scalp massage, and blow-dry. Charged in half-hour increments and determined at consultation (30 minutes minimum)
- Highlights: Lightener applied in sections to add brightness and dimension to hair color
- Accent highlights: 10 foils or balayage sections around the head in your desired placement, toner included (1 hr. 45 minutes)
- Area highlights: Foils or balayage highlights that cover half the head in your desired placement, toner included (2 hrs.)
- Full highlights: Foils or balayage highlights all over, toner included (2 hr. 30 minutes)
- Root blend: Blend root hair color with highlights for a natural look (30 minutes)
Styling
All styling services at Ulta salons include shampoo, conditioner, scalp massage, and a complimentary blow dry unless noted otherwise.

- Formal style: Styling for a formal event, including updos, braids, twists, or curls, does NOT include shampoo, condition, and blow-dry (1 hr. 15 minutes)
- Braids and locs: Advanced full-head braiding or locs, charged in half-hour increments (30 minutes minimum)

You may have noticed that some of the services in the price list are labeled as Designer, Master, or Elite. Some Ulta salons offer different pricing when a stylist with a specific training level performs the service. Services performed by Designer stylists are the lowest priced, while those performed by Elite stylists are the most expensive.
- Designer Stylist ($): These stylists have finished Ulta Beauty essential education covering haircuts, colors, styles, and texture. Designer stylist haircuts at Ulta salons are $39 on average.
- Master Stylist ($$): These stylists have finished Ulta Beauty essential and master education covering haircuts, colors, styles, and textures. They also complete continuing education in color and cutting techniques. Master stylist haircuts at Ulta salons are $60 on average – $21 more than Designer haircuts.
- Elite Stylist ($$$): These stylists have finished Ulta Beauty essential, master, and elite education covering haircuts, colors, styles, and textures. They mentor Master and Designer stylists. Elite stylist haircuts at Ulta salons are $70 on average. That’s $10 more than Master haircuts and $31 more than Designer haircuts.
Choosing the stylist level that is right for you is important. There are pros and cons for each level.
- Choose a Designer stylist if you’re on a budget or getting a basic service (quick haircut, wax, etc.)
- Choose a Master stylist if you’re getting a major basic service (changing your haircut, all-over color, etc.)
- Choose an Elite stylist if you’re getting an advanced or complex service (total blonde, texture treatment, etc.)
In most cases, you’ll be happy with a Designer or Master stylist for your service. You’ll save money and likely find there’s more stylist availability when choosing a Designer or Master stylist.
If you plan to go from dark hair to blonde, want balayage highlights, or plan to get a keratin treatment, it’s worth it to splurge on an Elite stylist with the most training.
